Braun Tassimo (now called Bosch Tassimo)

Tassimo Coffee Maker

The Braun Tassimo is more than an ordinary coffee maker in that it’s both extremely innovative and versatile..
Braun Tassimo

Many people have come to appreciate the taste and the kick that comes from an early morning cup of fresh coffee, and the Braun Tassimo is an easy way to achieve this. Once you have experienced it you will never want to go back to instant granules. The taste is so artificial by comparison with the real thing. The only reason for having a cup of instant coffee is the convenience. It’s quick and easy.

What many people probably don’t yet know is that there is a new breed of coffee making machines that will serve up real coffee in a very short time indeed, i.e. less than a minute. The Bosch Tassimo coffee maker is one of these machines, and although more expensive of course than drinking instant coffee, it is well worth the difference.

The Braun Tassimo is more than an ordinary coffee machine in that it’s both extremely innovative and versatile. It is like a filter coffee maker but without all the fuss and mess associated with loose coffee and having to clean out a filter. Instead you simply insert one of the patented T discs, of which there is a choice of coffee, espresso, latte, hot chocolate, or tea, and the drink is made in about one minute with no drama at all.

You do not have to measure out and adjust the amount of coffee as the machine does it all for you. You simply select the required T disc and place it into the disc holder at the front of the unit. Then, when you close the disc holder a barcode scanner reads the barcode on the disc and automatically selects the right settings to deliver the requested beverage in a minute or less. After that, it is simply a matter of removing the used disc and disposing of it. The only other requirement is to keep the water at the back of the unit filled.

The Bosch Tassimo coffee maker is an example of perfect form and function, in that it not only looks good, sleek and modern, but does exactly what is required at the push of a button. It is similar in size to a standard coffee maker but offers greater speed and ease of use. There is no awkward filter to clean out or replace.

There is a range of T discs available, including Coffee, Cappucino, Tea, Hot Chocolate, and Starbucks Coffee, and it is easy to try out different flavours with minimum outlay, and without having to alter anything in the machine. You just change the disc.

The maintenance of the unit is easy and only requires a wipe over with a damp cloth, and the rinsing out of the drip tray and adjustable cup holder. You are supplied with a special disc to use before making your first coffee and then from time to time. This probably helps clean the machine and remove limescale deposits.

The Braun Tassimo is a versatile and easy to use system that delivers high quality beverages with the ability to vary the strength of the beverage at the touch of a button. Coffee made this way is not the cheapest, but for many people the slight extra cost is well worth it for the good quality and convenience of use.
