Coffee Pod Holder

A coffee pod holder might just be the stylish accessory you didn’t know you needed! Many people nowadays have been converted to making their coffee with machines that use pods, discs or K-cups instead of the traditional loose ground coffee, simply because they are so much quicker, and more convenient.

There are no coffee grounds to clear out – you simply throw the pod away. You sacrifice nothing in terms of taste with these types of coffee maker so it is not surprising they are so popular.

Instead of having a jar of coffee on the shelf though, you will need to have a number of these pods stored in your kitchen, possibly quite a few if you want to take advantage of the many different types and blends of coffee that are available.

The sheer range of coffee pods and discs now available is amazing. This begs the question of how do you store them? If they are loose in a drawer it is not so easy to find any particular one, and if they are sitting on the counter they take up valuable workspace, and are not that aesthetic. The solution for many is a coffee pod holder.

A coffee pod holder is a stylish, modern accessory that will store all your pods in the minimum of space, and make dispensing the one you want, quick and easy, as they are usually colour coded.

You can get a pod holder in one of several different styles: a carousel of one or more tiers, which turns to access any particular pod, a tower that is like a taller version of a carousel, or a rectangular rack that can be self-standing or can be affixed to a vertical surface.

Some examples of popular coffee pod holders are as follows:

  • The Nifty carousel.
This classic design of a carousel in chrome will hold up to 40 (10 per column) of the Tassimo T-discs in an organised way. It is well made and robust, and is made to dispense the disc at the bottom of each column. That does, though, give you the option of storing only three or four different types of disc, unless you take them from both top and bottom of the column, in which case you can store half-stacks of 8 different T-discs which is enough for most people.
  • The Breville K-cup carousel comes in silver and black and looks smart and functional. It holds up to 30 kups and takes up less space than some other carousels.
  • The Keurig range, made by RCS plastics includes a taller type of tower with 8 sleeves holding up to 80 k-cups, and also a drawer type of holder that will accommodate 36 kups, and a drawer insert tray holding 21 cups. Keurig also make a neat looking carousel.
  • Swissmar is a manufacturer of holders for the popular Nespresso capsules, and they offer an excellent rack type of storage unit that will affix to a wall or to the inside of a cupboard door.
This is a great idea to save valuable space on the counter top, and by mounting it inside a cupboard it can be out of sight yet still be easily accessible. Some customers complained that the adhesive panels were not strong enough but this is apparently easily remedied by using Velcro. Swissmar also make an attractive stand-alone tower rack which is neat, stable, and turns easily.
  • The Lipper International 2-tier Revolving Coffee Pod Organiser, is a chrome carousel with compartments that gives you maximum versatility in allowing you to store virtually any shape or size of pod, capsule, or cup. For lovers of wood rather than metal, they also supply coffee pod holders in bamboo finish, as is part of their complete wooden ware range. One especially stylish one is rectangular in shape but mounted on a swivelling stand.

Depending on the type of coffee pod system that you go with, you will doubtless be able to find a suitable coffee pod holder to compliment it. Such accessories are not expensive and provide the ideal means to store and organise your coffee supplies for weeks to come!
