Keurig B60 - A Bestseller

Finding Best Coffee Maker for You

The Keurig B60 Special Edition is Keurig's best-selling coffee maker--a "mid-luxury" single cup home brewer loaded with neat features and true consumer value.
For the uninitiated, "mid luxury" in the world of Keurig machines means a price point of $150--less if you can find it discounted online.

This Keurig coffee maker comes with all the standard features you would expect from a Keurig brewer: no coffee grinding to deal with, minimal clean up, and fast and efficient brewing based on the Keurig K cup system.

Additional features on the Keurig B60 brewer include three cup sizes: 6 oz, 8 oz, and 10 oz, an upgrade from the Keurig B40, which accommodates only two cup sizes.

The addition of the 6 oz cup size allows for making a more concentrated brew. Other Keurig coffee machines, such as the Keurig B70 Platinum Brewing System, offer even more brewing cup sizes, but for the average coffee drinker, three will do just fine.

The Keurig Special Edition B60 is an aesthetically pleasing kitchen brewer, too. Chrome accents nicely complement the sleek, modernistic black frame design. The blue, backlit LCD display and water reservoir (yes, really!) emit a soft, almost ethereal glow.

More money also buys you more control over the brewing process. A temperature control feature lets you select the standard 192-degree Fahrenheit brew temperature, or a slightly cooler 187 degrees.

Cool, huh? It gets better. You can use the LCD control center to set the digital clock, and the Auto On/Off time. This feature lets you power down the Keurig up to nine hours after you've last used it--a great convenience if you enjoy drinking coffee throughout the day. No having to turn the machine on and off over and over, waiting for it to heat up the water, and all of that rigmarole.

By the way, the programmable "Auto On/Off Time" feature doesn't mean that you set the coffee machine for say, six o'clock in the morning, and the machine automatically starts brewing when the time comes. It means that the coffee maker will power on at six, and will have hot water ready when you drop a K cup into the chamber and select your brew cup size.

Consumers report that the B60 brewer makes a dependably fresh, aromatic cup of coffee or tea. With the vast variety of K Cups available, it's pretty likely that you'll discover a flavor or brand that suits your preferences. Not everything that consumers say about the B60 is positive, though. This Keurig brewer, like the other Keurig machines, makes a racket while it's brewing.

Some consumers have attempted to dampen the vibrations by sliding a neoprene mouse pad underneath the coffee maker, which seems to work about half the time. It's something to keep in mind if noise levels are important to you.

Other consumers report that the Keurig brews weak coffee. As always, this is a matter of personal taste. Keurig offers Extra Bold K cups, if you prefer to take your coffee strong. An Extra Bold K Cup brewed on the 6 oz cup setting creates a reasonably strong cup of coffee.

Overall, as you review all of the 1 cup coffee makers on the market today, I think you'll find that the Keurig Special Edition deserves serious consideration.
